For every Kiper there’s a McShay, and for our Gori I present Khalil McMillan, aka Kabron, aka Sweezy, aka OJ Simpson, aka don’t let him near your single mother. While we all appreciate Matt’s mock drafts, the league deserves an unbiased and neutral opinion to combat it.  Thus, Cobra Command’s front office searched far and wide for the best man for the job… unfortunately we couldn’t find him, but Khalil will do. Without further ado here are Sweezy’s picks for the 1st round of the upcoming 2018 ASU FFL Draft.

1. Matt

Saquan Barkley, RB, New York Giants

Well, like I said he wasn’t the best man for the job as you can see Khalil thinks Matt has the first pick still or maybe he just suggesting Matt is a moron for trading it, who knows. Regardless, it works here and Khalil gets his shit together the rest of the way (mostly).

2. Nnamdi

Royce Freeman, RB, Denver Broncos

Cobra Command locks up what looks to be the Broncos bell cow of the future. The former Oregon Duck joins the ASU FFL to continue to bring misery to the other 11 owners during the fall months.

3. Mai

Rashaad Penny, RB, Seattle Seahawks

Despite the broken digits and what looks like a 40/60 split with Carson, Penny still lands in the top three. His talent, size, and speed are unquestionable and should eventually lead to him passing up Carson on the depth chart.

4. Cheeseburger

DJ Moore, WR, Carolina Panthers

A WR in the top 5 for myself… where have I seen this story before? DJ, the first WR off the board in the NFL draft, keeps that status with the ASU FFL. DJ has plenty of competition for targets from Olson, Funchess, and CMC, but there’s hope that DJ could be Cam’s next Steve Smith, making this look like a solid selection.

5. ERey

Sony Michel, RB, New England Patriots

Love the player. I still think Georgia should have handed all of Chubb’s snaps to Sony during the national title game. Owning a Patriots running back is a recipe for heartburn though. There’s no coach who is as hot/cold on RBs as Bill and with a stable of RBs on the roster this is a risky pick. Starting off injured won’t help the rook either, but something tells me he will be hard to keep off the field as the season progresses and he earns Bill’s trust.

6. Nate Dogg (R.I.P.)

Ronald Jones II, RB, Tampa Bay Bucs

This USC product was a burner on the field all throughout college, running over the PAC-12 for huge gains. The Bucs have envisioned the same role for him in the NFL, but to say Rojo has struggled so far would a huge understatement. Reports out of Bucs camp indicate he’s been poor in pass protection and at catching the ball. And good GAWD has he been awful carrying  the ball too. Rojo has rushed the ball 12 times for a grand total of 11 yards a terrifying average of 0.92 YPC. Let’s hope these are just some rookie bumps that he can get through (meanwhile Peyton Barber Stock is booming).

7. Mark

Derrius Guice, RB, Washington Redskins

I’m not crying, you’re crying!!! Oh, what could have been a great partnership for Cobra Command results in a nice delayed gift for Marktits. Mark has the RB depth to absorb this pick with Henry, Gordon, Carson, and the third down specialist Riddick. Stashing what was supposed to be the #2 overall pick is just too much value to pass up at this point.

8. Mai

Kerryon Johnson, RB, Detroit Lions

Mai tries to save some grace from the draft bust that is Ameer Addeulighiudxhce(whatever his last name is) and picks his apparent successor. Kerryon will have to battle Blount for goal line carries and Theo for passing targets, but KJ can do it all. With great hands and a tough running style he should be the back to own out of this committee.

9. Chad

Nick Chubb, RB, Cleveland Browns

A few years ago Chubb looked like a future #1 pick in dynasty leagues, but after a gruesome knee injury and a long road to recovery he finds himself near the back end of the 1st round. He still brings a punishing style and should find some opportunities this year, but still sits behind Duke Johnson and Hyde (way way far behind Hyde) for carries which mean his time to shine could be a year or two from now.

10. Nate

Calvin Ridley, WR, Atlanta Falcons

I would be surprised if Ridley makes it this long in the draft. While not a freak athlete (he is just a tier below), his route running skills more than compensate. And with Julio drawing most the attention from opposing defenses, Calvin should thrive either in the slot or outside opposite of Julio. Great value for Nate here, who has never turned down the chance to add a WR.

11. TRADE?!?!?

Christian Kirk, WR, Arizona Cardinals

Back to my statement about not being the best man for the job… wtf Khalil at least throw a name at it! Anyway Kirk has some great upside here and is in a similar situation to Ridley, playing next to a future HOFer who will draw some attention. And assuming Rosen pans out too, Kirk and Rosen could be a dangerous duo for years to come.

12. Mai

Michael Gallup, WR, Dallas Cowboys

After shoring up his backfield Mai addresses his WR positon with the last pick in the 1st round. A potent WR core with Cooper and Adams adds the Cowboys potential #1 WR… which probably says more about the Cowboys than Gallup. Regardless of what you think about Dak and the Cowboys, if Gallup can become their #1 WR he should at least present flex level play during his rookie year.

P.S. I had to explain to Khalil after he submitted his mock that Matt no longer owned the first pick. See below for his reaction.
